?Spring, also known as springtime is one of the four temperate seasons, succeeding winter and preceding summer. There are various technical definitions of spring, but local usage of the term varies according to local climate, cultures and customs. When it is spring in the Northern Hemisphere, it is autumn in the Southern Hemisphere and vice versa. At the spring (or vernal) equinox, days and nights are approximately twelve hours long, with day length increasing and night length decreasing as the season progresses. Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Subtropical and tropical areas have climates better described in terms of other seasons, e.g. dry or wet, monsoonal or cyclonic. Cultures may have local names for seasons which have little equivalence to the terms originating in Europe. ?During early spring, the axis of the Earth is increasing its tilt relative to the Sun, and the length of daylight rapidly increases for the relevant hemisphere. The hemisphere begins to warm significantly, causing new plant growth to "spring forth," giving the season its name.Any snow begins to melt, swelling streams with runoff and any frosts become less severe. In climates that have no snow, and rare frosts, air and ground temperatures increase more rapidly. Many flowering plants bloom at this time of year, in a long succession, sometimes beginning when snow is still on the ground and continuing into early summer. In normally snowless areas, "spring" may begin as early as February (Northern Hemisphere) or August (Southern Hemisphere), heralded by the blooming of deciduous magnolias, cherries, and quince. Many temperate areas have a dry spring, and wet autumn (fall), which brings about flowering in this season, more consistent with the need for water, as well as warmth. Subarctic areas may not experience "spring" at all until May. #instagram #kidsofinstagram #instagood #instamood #spring #springiscoming #springbreak2020 #spring #20march #friday #fridayvibes #21june #sunday #india #sundayfunday #google #googledoodle #doodle #doodlesofinstagram #indian #europe

Kiedy przypada pierwszy dzień wiosny? To pytanie w ostatnim czasie zapewne padało coraz częściej z ust wszystkich tych, którzy z utęsknieniem wyglądali pierwszych, słonecznych dni.

Last night, I waved off my son and two granddaughters until goodness knows when. I have three other grandchildren and family down south that I had been going to see at Easter and today will be the last time for a while that I'll see my mum. It's a sobering time right enough. Let's hope we can use the start of isolation to coincide with the start of spring and hopefully some better weather, where we can at least get into our gardens for a bit of joy. Here's to a happy spring and with this in mind, thought I'd post some uplifting yellow daffs to help cheer you up. ? ? @mygardenthismonth - First Day of Spring @myhousethismonth - Hello Spring @storyofmyhome - A Stones Throw @featuremyflorallove @brightenmywall @gardengreatorsmall ? #myhousethismonth #mygardenthismonth #featuremyflorallove #brightenmywall #cottagegardenstyle #daffodils #spring #lushflorals #hellospring #march #firstdayofspring #outdoors #springflowers #brightenupyourday #countryliving #countryside #livinginthecountry #instaflowers #instafloral #countrylife #individual #countryhouse #lifestyling #styleithappy #lifestyle #artfullyhomes #houseinthecountry #fridayhomefeatures #eclecticmode

Google Doodle.

?International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on the 8th of March every year around the world. It is a focal point in the movement for women's rights. ?German poster for International Women's Day, March 8, 1914. This poster was banned in the German Empire ?After the Socialist Party of America organized a Women's Day in New York City on February 28, 1909, German delegates Clara Zetkin, Käte Duncker and others proposed at the 1910 International Socialist Woman's Conference that "a special Women's Day" be organized annually. After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted by the feminist movement in about 1967. The United Nations began celebrating the day in 1977. ?Commemoration of International Women's Day today ranges from being a public holiday in some countries to being largely ignored elsewhere. In some places, it is a day of protest; in others, it is a day that celebrates womanhood #women #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen #womeninbusiness #8march #germanposter #womenempoweringwomen #womenhelpingwomen #womenwhohike #womensday #womensday2020 #womensdayspecial #savegirls #international #internationalwomensday #internationalwomensday2020
